Mt Kinabalu is the travel icon for
Sabah located in East Malaysia. Sabah used to be called
North BORNEO. Sabah used to be under the
Chartered Company but gained its independence in September 1963 through Malaysia.
Sabah is rich in natural resources and bio-diversity from the forests as well as the sea.
The major crop is oil palm. Other crops are cocoa and rubber.
There are major flights into Sabah through the
Kota Kinabalu International Airport. The new airport is just completed in 2008.
